Indeed, philanthropic activities and profit-making commercial ventures can’t go hand in hand. But the new emerging Abhati Suisse is such a brand which tells a different story. A profound Swiss environmentalist and social activist Anju Rupal started this brand featuring purely organic cosmetics, driven by the urge to diminish gender inequality and educate rural girls. Not only this, she founded SwissMediKids which helps treat the sufferers of domestic violence and an organization WeForest for reforestation program implementations as well.
To be very specific, this unique idea came to her mind during a tour of hilly areas of Indian Subcontinent like the Western Ghats and Himalayan Valley. She got acquainted with the amazing healing properties of the local shrubs and expertise of native farmers to make different balms.
Since 2013, this organization has unveiled 12 different products in the beauty segment ranging from lip balm to eyebrow shaper, hair vitalizer, moisturiser etc. They use natural fruit amla and wild cherry as hair straightening and smoothening agent. In the Himalayan Valley and Western Ghat area, just 1% of village girls get access to higher secondary education on average.
However, Abhati Suisse is investing the profit earned towards this issue. As per the statistics, they have helped nearly 1,20,000 village girls to reach their goal till now.
